PRIVATE LESSONS

Lessons at Joyride 150 are a great way for any rider to learn new skills and have fun at Canada’s largest bike park, Joyride 150. All JR150 instructors are riders themselves who love to share their passion with members of the riding community.

Lessons at Joyride 150 Include:

LEARN TO RIDE

Joyride 150 Learn To Ride Lessons are the perfect starting point for someone that is new to riding. No prior riding experience is necessary!

Learn to ride lessons are progressive and designed to take riders from balancing to pedaling. They focus on both fun and progression. Smiles are guaranteed!

• Lessons are available Monday – Friday 4:00pm – 5:00pm, 5:30pm – 6:30pm, 7:15pm – 8:15pm*
• Each lesson includes 1 hour of instructed riding time. Additional uninstructed riding time is also available.
• Lessons are $60/hr, and are one on one only.
• No bike? No problem, rental equipment is available. Please see our pricing page for details.

Learn To Ride lessons are recommended for riders 5 and older.

LEARN TO JOYRIDE

Looking to do more than ride around the block? Our Learn to Joyride lessons focus on helping riders move to the next step in their progression.

Learn To Joyride focuses on jumping, dropping in, pumping a transition and park etiquette.

• Lessons are available Monday – Friday 4:00pm – 5:00pm, 5:30pm – 6:30pm, 7:15pm – 8:15pm*
• Each lesson includes 1 hour of instructed riding time. Additional uninstructed riding time is also available.
• Lessons are $60/hr, and are one on one only.

ADVANCED PROGRAM – BMX RACE

Is there a BMX rider in your family that’s looking toward the local podium and beyond? Our advanced racing program is where they need to be!

BMX racing lessons will be taught by a senior member of the Joyride 150 race team. Each instructor has been trained by cycling coach Brendan Arnold.

Brendan has been involved in the sport of BMX for 37 years and has coached multiple National Champions and World Plate holders.

Each 1 hour class focuses on skill building and progression specifically in the realm of BMX racing.

• Lessons are available Mondays and Thursdays 6:30 – 7:30pm and 8:00pm – 9:00pm
• The program includes a full day pass on the day of instruction in addition to 1 hour of instructed riding time with one of the Joyride 150 racing coaches
• The advanced race program costs $409.00 + HST for the four week engagement.

LESSONS – ADVANCED BMX FREESTYLE

Do you have the next Drew Bezanson sleeping in the one room over? Or maybe you’re just looking to make it through our expert jump line clean and effortlessly.

Either way, Joyride 150’s Advanced BMX Freestyle lessons are designed for the BMX rider that’s looking to progress beyond bunnyhops and 180s and into the world of 360s, tailwhips, barspins and more.

Advanced BMX Freestyle lessons are taught by Boiler Room Rider Lawson Turner!

Each 1 hour class focuses on skill building and progression based learning for BMX Riders

• Lessons are available Mondays and Thursdays 5:30pm – 6:30pm, and 7:15pm – 8:15pm
• The program includes a full day pass on the day of the lesson in addition to 1 hour of instructed riding time with coach Lawson Turner
• The advanced race program costs $409.00 + HST for the four week engagement.

Please Note: All participants must fill out a Joyride 150 Waiver prior to their first lesson.

Group

PRIVATE ROOM RENTAL & GROUP RATES – NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

Bring your group for a Joyride! Riding and non-riding options available. In order to be eligible for a group or party rate, the party/group must be booked in advance and payment must be made with ONE TRANSACTION. Any payments made outside of the party/group transaction will not be given the special party/group rate.  In other words, if someone wants to pay separately, they must pay the full day-pass & rental rate.
